Our Project

Welcome to our website where we would like
to show off our new home!!!

Oct.
2025

Our adventure here begins with a lease signed
in early October, 2025; professionals sought for
and hired; materials being searched for and
ordered; plans dreamed of being put onto
paper and permits applied for and received.

All of this was wrapped up in a nice little holiday package and
prep for the build out started soon thereafter.

Join us on a photo journey from this first set of
“before” pictures through the upcoming
transition to completion.

Build out begins

Jan.
2026

The first photos taken in
approximately early January,
2026, show from the outside
looking into the exam hall as
the windows are being
prepared for installation of
the cute pet graphics; you’ll
note how clean the windows
sparkle!

In addition you can see the future surgery area with the sweet
kitty and the “flying” dog (is it a Corgi??).

Toward the end of January (you can
see evidence of the major snow storm
outside the space a few days earlier )
(1), there are photos from the inside of
the exam hall of the completed
window graphics (2); there’s a photo
looking from the reception room into
the exam hall with protective coverings
on the floors (3).

A photo taken from the reception desk
down the hall to the treatment and
surgery areas (4); and finally a photo of
the reception floor looking toward the
front door with a heavy floor covering
as it will be subjected to a lot of traffic
during the construction. This photo
also looks through the reception area
toward the exterior sidewalk in front
and where you’ll notice the snow!! (5)

Moving along some what more slowly than we’d expected, we do still have some new photos to share with YOU!!

Exam rooms are up

Photo 6 & 7: The original wooden studs have beenreplaced with steel ones–does anyone remember theold erector sets; and do you see the similarity?!

What about Lego’s to those of you in the youngergroup?

Photo 15 & 16: This gives you a close up of the covered salt wall as well as the start of the dental table showing the fresh cement on the floor due to the newly laid under the floor plumbing for this dental station.

How many of you are wondering what a salt wall is and why would there be one in a veterinary hospital??

Salt walls are beautiful to observe especially when they glow from light shining behind and through them. They are also believed to offer air-purifying qualities when negative ions are released and help neutralize allergens dust and pollutants found in the air. They act as an air filter but are so much more natural and delightful to observe. They are said to also assist in healing. Just looking at one can make you feel happier.

We hope our pet patients will benefit from this wall and our staff will find joy in its beauty.

Progress is being made so keep an eye out for our next showing!!

Spring is in the Air!

Mar. & Apr.
2026

Now that winter temperatures have turned a little warmer, we’re beginning to see that progress is being made. And it really shows.!

We’ve gone from the “erector-set like” wall interiors to actual closed and painted walls in the rooms. These rooms are now being “decorated” with boxes, boxes, and boxes (cardboard) which contain mill work and other supplies. Lighting is in place and in most spaces the ceiling has been being closed over with the sprinkler system being in place and inspected.

We move to the reception area where the living plant wall is showing itself off because it seems to know that all the banging and dust as well as varying temperatures are almost completed.

We even have some cages in place.

So it shouldn’t be long now and we’ll have our Use and Occupancy
permit from the City of Rockville.

Check back for some final photos.

May & June
2026

Switching gears!

These first four “blasts” have been the introduction as we build our website. We
thought it would be fun to share the construction photos and our progress.

This will be the last “blast” as we’re now ready to offer our website within a website in
just a few weeks.

The website will contain the usual information found on most websites, Contact
information such as name and address, phone and FAX, an introductory Home,
Hospital Policies, Hours, our Doctor bio and our Private Policy document.

The highlight, however, will be our blog called: Negola’s News. This will be the fun
section and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy creating it for you. It’s the web
within the web. Our goal is to acquaint our readers with some information about
keeping your pets healthy without making it seem like a chore or too boring to be
bothered with.

We have a Monthly Themes calendar we’ve used for this purpose for many years. Next
issue we’ll publish it for you. This will be our inaugural edition, Volume 1. So this issue
will be based on April. Our next issue should be out soon and it will be for May.
Hopefully we may even get our June issue published before the end of June.

For now we’ll acknowledge that we’re a little behind as construction took much
longer than expected but we’ve been blessed with a contractor who knows cutting
corners is never a good thing.

Stay tuned until the last of this blast for more exciting news!

Photo 1 & 2:
Well, we’re almost there and although we still have paper-covered
windows at least we have some of the reception furniture in place. It looks a little bare
but should look more like home once we have permission to open and invite pets and
their people to join us.

Photo 3:
This is the beginnings of the surgery suite. The wall
at the back will be covered with monitors and medical/surgical equipment handy to the two surgical tables. You can also see the ceiling-mounted surgical lamps but notice the window at the top of the wall which lets in lots of wonderful natural lighting

Photo 4 & 5:
The treatment room is quite spacious with lots of equipment (notice the ICU unit in both photos). The treatment island features dental cleaning sinks at both ends with lots of storage around the walls.

Photo 6:
Once again we share a glimpse of the live
plant wall. You’ll notice it’s basking in the wonderful plant light and growing happily. This beautiful feature not only brings life and warmth to our hospital, but it also served as the inspiration for our upcoming blog,
Negola’s News.

See the resemblance?

Now sharing some good news
with you…

We are

OPEN !

Dr. Negola’s Veterinary Hospital opened quietly on June 1 exactly one year
from the day the wonderful space was found in Fallsgrove Village Center on
Shady Grove Road in Rockville, Maryland.

Many of you may know just where the new hospital is located without even realizing it. If you know
where Shady Grove Adventist Hospital is on Shady Grove Road, you also know where Fallsgrove Village
is…right across the street at the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Fallsgrove Boulevard (not to be
mistaken with Fallsgrove Road). The shopping center is home to multiple choices of food eateries,
Safeway and several banks as well as other fun destinations.

Meet our 1st client,

Nugget !

On this first day we were welcomed in by “Nugget”, a delightful neutered male Golden Retriever. His lucky owner has allowed us to use
his charming photo as he greets our Receptionist Extraordinaire of 25 years, Kim. Wouldn’t it be
wonderful to greet each day with his attitude of peace and serenity?

Nugget was our very first patient at our new location.
Please stop in to see us as we’d love to see YOU and your pet or pets.
